Shrink
Method – Welding
This type of packaging is based on the application of thermal energy to a shrink film, to create sealed, practical and aesthetically appealing packs.
In shrink-wrapped packages, the product is vacuum-packed with special bags which, once in contact with the heat source, retract onto the surface of the product, creating the typical adherence.
The heat-shrink characteristics of the film can be activated by a brief contact with hot air, hot water by rain or steam or by immersion in a tub.
Benefits
The packages become captivating as they wrap the products just like a second skin. With this process, the film scraps usually protruding from conventional packages are considerably reduced. The extremely durable, waterproof and ultra-low volume packs offer a high advantage for storage and transport.
Applications
The shrink package can be used for many types of food such as fresh meat, poultry products and cheeses.
